My Top Boosters For Green Smoothies

by The Smoothie Guy

I know that green smoothies are already extremely nutritious, but I like to add the following ingredients that enhance all the health perks even further.

Protein Powder

I add a scoop of protein powder to almost all of my green smoothies. Though, if you don't want to add it, you don't have to. What makes it so great is that it makes your smoothie more filling.

Soy and whey protein powders are the most popular, so you will be able to find them easily. However, you can also use egg-based protein powders as well as plant-based powders. My preference is the plant-based powders that are made from hemp or rice. After trying countless different protein powders, I have settled on NutriBiotic. The vanilla flavor is definitely my favorite. What I like about NutriBiotic is that you get more bang for your buck, while still remaining a high-quality product. You can get it from in chocolate, vanilla or plain.

Superfoods To Boost Specific Perks

Currently there are a ton of superfood products available. Though, to be honest, I believe that only a select few can really offer health benefits for the majority of us. This opinion I base on my own first-hand experience as well as some research that I have read. As a result, I do not use every superfood product.

My List Of Ingredients That Will Boost Your Smoothie:

Cacao Powder

When I crave a healthy, chocolatey taste, I simply add about a tablespoon of raw cacao powder to my morning smoothie. I find that it improves my concentration and energizes me. Unlike with coffee that contains caffeine, I do not feel jittery or dehydrated. Plus, there is no risk of developing a caffeine dependency. Thanks to raw cacao powder, I can be super productive!

Chia Seeds

I try to use chia seeds every single day as they have loads of calcium, fiber and omega-3.

Goji Berries

I love to add goji berries to my smoothie before or after my workout session. What makes them so special is that they offer energy and protein, but does not bulk up your smoothie.

Maca Root Powder

When you want to increase your energy, sex drive and stamina, maca root is your answer. This root vegetable tastes like butterscotch (so some might not like it), though all the perks it has to offer will make up for the taste.

If you battle with your thyroid, I suggest that you use it carefully.

Matcha Green Tea Powder

This smoothie booster comes from a plant which has been grown and processed in a specific manner. It boasts a rich flavor and several benefits. It has been shown to boost concentration, combat stress and help with weight loss too. Just like other green teas, it has caffeine.

Moringa Leaf Powder

moringa leaf powder

If you are looking for an excellent way to add more iron and calcium to your green smoothie, be sure to try moringa leaf powder. It could also assist with decreasing your blood pressure as well as cholestrol.

Hemp Seeds

This super ingredient has a bit of a nutty taste and boasts protein as well as omega-3. I suggest that you also try it in your salad or soup for added texture and flavor.

Of all these ingredients, turmeric has most likely been researched the most. I would recommend it as it has a long list of benefits in store for your health. Some of these benefits are protection against some cancers, alleviating inflammation and reducing the seriousness of symptoms associated with rheumatoid arthritis to mention only a few.

I suggest that you add some fat (either almond milk, avocado, chia seeds or coconut) and black pepper to your green smoothie which will help with the absorption of the turmeric and its active ingredient, curcumin.

I hope you found this blog post useful.
